They will get rusted and corroded and have a small pin hole leak. My 86 was doing that and I though it was a head gasket. Get yourself a coolant pressure tester and check your system. When it is pressurized, you will see the leak.Valve Guides and Seals: Another cause of pressure in the crank case is worn out valve guides and valve seals. Since there is positive pressure in the intake, the pressure can travel up the intake valve stem and past the seal into the crankcase.
