The piston retaining plug is 316 stainless over a .106 gas port. Even with those tightened down, it wouldn’t hold a zero. The only way to get a solid mount is to drill and tap the receiver. The dust cover and gas tube mounts have way too much movement going on to keep zero, thus defeating the purpose of an optic IMO.
