There is local post for a 2011 Camry (86,500 miles) for $6,500, and it seems like a good deal to me. However, I am wondering if I should spend a few thousand more for the 2012 model (I've seen local posts for around $8k-$9K). The big difference I can see right away is the center console, as the 2012 is way more modern.

Engine swap, turbo, wider tyres, performance ecu. Nah actually you can't really increase the performance except for the tyres, sway bar and suspension on the 2018+ models. The ecu is encrypted and it's pretty difficult to add any performance mods really. Air intake and exhaust ect won't do much for a 200hp 4cyl or even the v6.The 2600 in "aftermarket" is a problem here but honestly in this market, 22k for a 55k mi Camry is not insane. Preowned cars are super high right now. You can get a fully loaded 23 model, any trim, with 5 miles on the odometer, for less than $42k. And you can do a lot better than 9% APR.The price difference is just absurd between the TLX and the Camry for what your getting. The Camry is even more expensive, and you're getting very outdated tech compared to the Acura (Camry is using a super old Aisin 6 speed auto compared to the modern ZF 9 speed in the Acura) My 2006 Mazda 6S has the same Aisin trans… So it's very old.I will be driving freeway at least once a week for about 39 minutes.
