I know that patent examiners work 80 hours every 2 weeks and patent agents (on average) put in somewhere between 32-40 billable hours which amount to 40-50 working hours. I'm surprised the locality pay increase was so low. For 10% it would be 159286 x 1.1 = $175214 which would top out instead at the statutory limit of $172,500. In other words, the 14/10 examiner would be making $172500 if the special pay rates were adjusted to the 10% cap they were set up to be around.
