Words and Photos by Ian Matteson. Much like the plot of a nostalgic movie, Powder Mountain's origin story was born out of the collective passion for good old-fashioned winter fun. In 1972, the Cobabe family, aided by the community, opened their doors to what remains a magical place fifty-two years later – Powder Mountain.
