Here's the ideal way to macro ground AOE's: 2 lines that each have the action, the first with <t> and the second without <t>. Only one of the two lines will ever be able to execute; the first one will execute if you have a target selected, and the second one will execute if you don't, which allows you to place the ground marker manually in situations where you desire.
