On my way to find Brian Virgil in the Glowing Sea, I came across the Crater of Atom. There's a bunch of people there worshipping "Atom" (which I remembered from Fallout 3) and somehow they've survived despite all the radiation. When I asked their "leader", Mother Isolde, how they've survived, they said it's a gift from Atom.
