Dow unification mod

I was playing DoW Unification Campaign for the first time and set the army size to titanic on the campaign configurator that comes with the mod. Do those settings (small_battles, massive_battles etc) affect only me as the player ? I really hope they affect both me and the opposing AI, for the sake of balance.
