Jan 18, 2020 · Mack MP8 regen issues. 2012 CXU613 with 2012 fault codes so it's not a 2013. Truck arrived at the shop at the beginning of the week. Soot load was level 5. performed a parked regen. DOC inlet temp was bias. DPF outlet temp stayed above inlet temp during regen.

Doc inlet temp during regen. Malfunctioning temperature sensors. The temperature sensors, spread through the aftertreatment system, measure the exhaust going into and out of each filter. The first sensor is in the DOC and the last is after the SCR. The sensor’s readings measure how well the system is working, and a faulty sensor can interfere with the regen process.

Jan 11, 2020 · Typically, outlet temp should stay around 50F below inlet temp. If DPF outlet temp stays above the inlet temp then the DOC isn't working probably. Likely face plugged and allows a rich fuel mixture to burn inside DPF instead of DOC. DPF temp should be in the 1000-1100F range. If DPF temp reaches around 1300F, regen will shut down to prevent damage.

13. Inspect the DOC inlet pressure sensor electrical connector for corrosion and spread pins. a. If corrosion or damaged (or bent) pins are found, repair as necessary. Verify repairs. b. If i manually open 7th injector,it opens and temp rise as well. But it never opens during regen, no other codes validation parked regeneration as noted in the troubleshooting. Troubleshooting for the 3711/31 fault should be completed to verify there is not an actual component issue causing low DOC inlet temperature such as a drifted DOC inlet temperature sensor or a sticking front Jake solenoid. This temperature is typically around 600 to 700 degrees Celsius, or 1100 to 1300 Fahrenheit, which is much higher than the normal operating temperature of the engine. ...

DOC face plugging, or DOC sulfur poisoning due to not using Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel. Therefore, the AFI tip should be cleaned and the DOC inlet should be inspected before replacing the AFI. Follow the procedures in Guided Diagnostics to inspect and clean the DOC. Obviously it's not reaching the 500F+ for the fuel to start dosing. No exhaust or boost leaks. Here are some of the data I wrote down during the parked regen: DPF DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE: 0.1hg It's still in regen mode, but the current step says waiting on DPF outlet temp of 410°f, while the DOC inlet is over 470°f. The only codes are for the SCR efficiency, so if I could get it to complete the regen it should be fine.DOC inlet temperature; DPF inlet temperature; DPF outlet temperature; The MAXIMUM difference between the sensor readings should be 24 o C (43 o F). There is always something . Excessive idling does cause the DPF to need a regen more often. The Pete I was in, it was recommended that if we had to idle due to temps, that we raise the idle to 1500 to help keep the DPF hot enough to regen itself. However, with the other issues you said it has, sounds like it needs to see Mr. Peterbilt.SFN 10-42R ZTSE6031 Restrictor Plate Tool (on vehicle DOC cleaning tool for MaxxForce 7 engines) IK0700030 Determining a DPF's "health" on a used truck IK0700032 DPF Snap Accel Test (Quick Test) IK0700035 DPF replacement- critical steps to perform after replacing or cleaning a DPF WIL2800030 DOC Damage as a Result of Improper CleaningThe stage1 is before regeneration phase. The DOC inlet temperature, the DPF inlet temperature, and the DPF outlet temperature are sequentially lowered due to the heat loss. The stage2 is during regeneration phase. The DOC inlet temperature slightly reduces due to the vaporization heat of methanol. Here's the "normal" values for all of the Aftertreatment Parameters during a Parked Regen. *Note* On a DD13, there are 3 important parameters that will have higher values than the DD15 or DD16. -Turbo Speed 38,000-42,000 rpm. -SCR Inlet NOx Sensor 400-500 ppm. -Actual DEF Dosing Quantity 900-1100 g/h.

The high temps are in the exhaust NOX/DPF filter. Everything upstream of that is pretty much normal from my observations. See this video on an entire active regeneration. Regen completed. Didn't set any faults and it brought the soot level down however the NOX readings were never displayed. DPF temps however were not good as the outlet temp remained higher than the inlet temp during the entire regen. Good indication that the DOC is face plugged and I'll recommend the DOC/DPF be sent out for cleaning.Active regeneration system. In an active regeneration system, a burner and air compressor are used to bring the system back to its clean state. The exact period of regeneration can be determined by calculating the backpressure of the exhaust gases.
