Chemistry is a science that deals with the composition, structure, reactivity, and properties of substances and of the transformations they undergo. Chemists perform experiments, conduct research, investigate and analyze techniques for basic scientific purposes, and develop new and improved products.

Degrees chemistry. A hallmark of this degree program is the opportunity to participate in stimulating undergraduate field and laboratory research with award-winning faculty. Research internships, a chemistry/biochemistry internship course, and work as lab assistants and research assistants are available to students in the program.

The Major Programs. Chemistry studies the composition of matter, its structure, and the means by which it is converted from one form to another. The Program.
