imo the only necessary thing is the boots, if you have stuff like exalted duel hat and robe, ring and athane from dime and cronus then the upgrade is pretty minor. Also morganthe drops a really good amulet and athane. The Malistare wand can carry you for a long time because of the crit and pierce it gives you.
