I just acquired another Colt 1911. I believe its dated 1918 but some of you experts might be able to judge it better. The serial Number is No482115.

Dec 19, 2009 · According to Mr. Clawson's book, 1917-18 Colt produced serial numbers 186201 thru 209586 in a 23,386 pistol shipment. And indicates that 1918 production of that shipment was serial numbers 204987 thru 209586, which 205181 would have fallen into. It could be the source of information that Blue Book used for it's publication that has the discrepancy. The last 4 digit Colt 1911 serial numbers were made in 1914. Colt also put Colt identification on commercial frames. Only military frames had only a serial number, and the number always started with "No", as in "Number".
