Cam cleats for climbing sticks
I've tried 1/4 Amsteel with my Barton cam cleat (K Cam Cleat Midi - 507 lb. safe work load - exactly 1" wide). It does compress the rope significantly, but zero issues with slipping. It is more difficult to pull out of the cleat than Samson 8mm accessory cord after you put your weight on the stick. A.
